The updated hardware that we’ve added to the Atari 1200XL housing include the Raspberry Pi 4, a Motospeed CK62 mechanical keyboard, USB extenders and mini HDMI to HDMI cords for universal monitor displays. For gameplay, we chose to program a Playstation 4 and XBOX One controller to play the games we are emulating.


Using a secure shell protocol (ssh), we remotely accessed our Raspberry Pi system to download and install supported Read-Only Memory (ROM) games to be emulated on the RetroPi. We didn’t want to solely focus on Atari system games, so we expanded the console list to Nintendo 64, Playstation and Sega Dreamcast systems.
